I dont have the fabric covered one, but the soft smooth leather type one that I got from the dealership and When I first tried it on I didnt think that It felt a lot more comfortable than just the plain seat, but it may have felt a little more cushiony. Where I noticed the big difference was after 17 hours of straight riding on the first day of my trip. I rode 2 more days after that I covered about another 1000 miles. and My butt only felt like it used to feel after I had rode 300 miles without it.
