(4 stars) reviewed on 04/11/10 byAnthony (ocanada) from Wasaga Beach, ON, CA, for a 2008 1300 VTX1300C wrote: I bought 11.5 inch, and the ride is as expected nice improvement over the oe. The difference between the stock and progressive purchased is 1/2 inch. I measured height of fender before install, and again afterward, the fender dropped exactly 1/2 inch. I purchased standard, and left it on its stock setting. I weigh around 200 lbs (solid muscle mind you) he he, I also don't ride pillion often. This was the right choice for me. (5 stars) reviewed on 11/26/09 byBob (Loonatic) from Indianapolis, IN, United States, for a 2006 Black 1300 VTX1300R (S) Retro wrote: Bought Heavy Duty set for my bike. Easy to install, took about 5 minutes a shock. I like the look much better than the stock shocks. Finally got a chance to test ride on them yesterday. Big improvement over the stock shocks for sure. Now it feels like the back of the bike is firmly planted on the pavement. Wish I would have bought them sooner... Three thumbs up (if I had a third thumb that is). These were one of the first things that I put on the bike. I like the ability to adjust the ride for traveling (a lot of gear) or normal riding. They look good, too. (5 stars) reviewed on 08/17/09 byrobert scott (trotsky) from Auckland, New Zealand, , New Zealand, for a 2010 1300 VTX1300R (S) Retro wrote: I ride 2-up most of the time - the wife does let me out of the driveway without hoping on too. I have done 12,000 kms on the bike and the stock shocks were getting very spongey. We ride in New Zealand which has twisty roads of verying quality so good shocks are a must. I bought the heavt duty version at 12 inches (to give a bit more clearance for those sweeping corners)and have not looked back. Very easy to install (if you have a bike lift) and look good. It's a shame the saddle bags hide them. The ride is AMAZING. In the past I was hammering the brakes into corners to avoid wobble and bottoming out. Now I can corner much faster and with much more confidence. Will definitely do the front forks next Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Motorcycle jack makes it real easy but could be done one at a time without one. Set them on the third notch initialy but was very hard. Turned the preload adjuster down to the second notch and made a big difference. I bought the 12 inch heavy duty shocks. These along with the fork springs from progressive made a big difference in the ride. Review Details 1 out of 1 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
