I installed this unit along with my aftermarket exhaust system. Installation was straightforward, and the look and finish are first rate. After getting the carb properly dialed in, the bike runs great. It's a little pricey for an air cleaner, (Kuryakyn calls it an "Air System") and even though my right thigh is right up against it as I ride, It doesn't affect the original comfort level. (not for me, anyway) Also, the optional colors available on the butterfly valves and the way they actually work is a real nice touch. If this is a style your looking for, and don't mind playing with the carb, (Kuryakyn techs will help,) you won't be disapointed. UPDATE: After a few years with this accessory on the bike, overall I'm still very satisfied. Although, there are a few caviats. First, the Kuryakyn unit, on this bike sticks out to the point that when I'm on the bike, the unit is right up against my knee. If you've only one bike, you'll get used to it. But, if you have more than one bike, you'll notice it every time you change scoots. Also, when I went to have my bike Dyno-tuned, because of the way the unit works, (the flapper valve opening and closing with engine vacuum) whenever a carb adjustment was made, the bike had to be physically taken off the Dyno and road tested. It took more time to get the adjustments right. More time equals a higher Dyno bill. Knowing this, would I still put one on? You betcha.
