Installing on a 2003 Vulcan 1500 Classic. Remove the speedometer housing, gas tank, driver's seat and headlight rim. There are three wire connections under the tank to disconnect. Install the tach on the handlebar. Strip the black cover on the tach wiring back maybe 8 or 10 inches. The coils are located inside the frame up at the front. Two nuts hold the left coil. Remove the nuts and lower the coil out of the frame a bit so you can hook up to the coils using the supplied duplicate connectors. The green tach wire connects with the black coil wire and the red tach wire with the red coil wire. Re-install the coil. Connect the black ground wire to the frame. Find a small bolt to hook it up to the frame. In the headlight, the red wire with a yellow stripe is the wire you will splice or otherwise connect the yellow tach wire to. I installed heat shrink tubing on the yellow tach wire before connecting it. Re-install the tank, seat and headlight rim. That is pretty much all there is too it. The tach needle may vibrate a bit but smooths out as you get underway. Works and looks great.
