Overall this is a great item. The installation itself was moderately easy on my vtx13300r as the only tool you really need is a phillips screwdriver, but you should also have a few other items mentioned below. The wiring colors on the Kuryakyn basically matched 1 for 1 with the vtx which made mapping the wired easy. Unfortunately I didn't realize this until I went through the steps of determining the wire functions separately... but I guess that's still a good thing to do. Only one wire is different... a white wire is used for one of the grounds on the turn signals as to prevent you from crossing it with the green ground on the other turn signal. A good move on Kuryakyn's part yet I wish they noted it in the manual. I did have to use the provided equalizer and found a great place to strap it to the vertical frame tube to act as a heat sink as the manual recommends. I like the replacement turn signals. The clear red glass is so much brighter than the stock prism amber. I definitely feel more secure when I hit the breaks now. A few gotchas: 1) The kit comes with some grease to use on the terminals. Use it sparingly! I accidentally used to much causing a short in one of the turn signal connectors. After wiping it down - many times - I finally cleared the short. 2) Because of the length of the module it's pretty much impossible to get all the connections back under the rubber boot. I opted to put one side of the module only and am looking for another rubber boot to cover the rest. The length of the module also makes for a challenge to fit it back under the side panel. I had to run mine diagonally from the upper left to the lower right. 3) Go buy some longer ties! The ones in the kids are like 4" long and are basically useless. 4)The rubber boots on the bullet connectors are too short to cover the entire connection so I used electric tape to insure a watertight seal.
