Review Summary:
This piece is a must have for the traditional retro look! I used this along with the Hondaline Chrome Front Fender Ornament and the Hondaline Chrome Front Fender Rear Tip. The three pieces really dress-up the front fender. WARNING: If you do not have spokes or some type of holes in your mag wheel that will allow you to reach from the clutch side THROUGH to the brake side, you will NOT be able to install the rear nut on the brake side. Installation tips: Place blue painter's tape around the front and sides of the fender incase you lose your grip on the piece and it falls on your fender...ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! The bolts you remove from the fender are M8 X 1.25 X 40 mm and the bolts provided are M8 X 1.25 X 55 mm. I would only insert enough bolt to slip the bracket onto, as you have squeeze it in order to clear the bolts...the more threads you have showing, the more you have to sqeeze. Once in place, you can fully tighten the fender bolts. The bolts provided are chrome, and the ones that came with my VTX are stainless. I don't care for chrome bolts because the threads soften during the chroming process. That said, I ordered some stainless bolts through my local Fastenal store. You will ABSOLUTELY have to have a 13 mm open end wrench with a closed end RATCHET in order to install the rear nut on the brake side...no, a socket/ratchet will not work due to limited space. I used blue loctite on all of the nuts.
