Our bikes come lean from the factory to meet exhaust emissions standards. When afermarket pipes or air kits are added, air flow is increased, thus making the bike run even more lean. THIS IS NOT GOOD! Lean means the bike will run HOT, it will have POPPING upon decelaration, it will BACKFIRE, and will sound just plain BAD. When a bike is properly jetted it runs cooler, has more power, and should not backfire (unless it has an exhaust leak). Jetting the 1300 is a simple operation that will take the average weekend wrench turner just and hour or two. (Beats hundreds of $ at the dealership) Once agian, the first and best accessory on my 1300S.
