Rivco Universal LED MirrorsReviewed by: (mac40k) Reviewed for: 950 V-Star Tourer Used for: < 1 month Ratings: Overall Rating: 5
Ease of install: 4 Value: 5 Would buy again: yes Review Summary: Since the lights on the front of the mirrors act as running lights as well as turn signals, they increase the visability of the bike. The rear facing LED turn signals built into the mirrors don't stay on, but as they are higher up, they should catch the attention of someone behind me that doesn't notice the much lower turn signals mounted on the bike, especially when I have my tour bag on the luggage rack. The chrome finish is much nicer looking than my stock mirrors and they are quite a bit heavier too. The mirrors themselves are convex giving you a wider field of view, but have the standard disclaimer printed on them that objects are closer than they appear. Since I always turn my head and glance over my shoulder before making a turn or changing lanes anyway, this doesn't matter to me and I appreciate having the wider view. I believe Rivco makes these with flat glass as well if that is your preference. The install is pretty straight forward and the biggest issue I had was I didn't have much slack in the existing wires, so splicing in was a little challenging, but that is no fault of the product. Bottom line, good looking, better visability for me and the bike, and increased safety. Definitely worth it.
