Review Summary:
The installation was fairly easy to install. On my V-Star 650, I was able to completely remove the rear light assembly, and work on it comfortably sitting at my table. The bigger pain was having to completely disassemble the entire rear lights assembly. But, once it was all apart, running the kit wire thru was pretty easy and painless. However, putting the light assembly back together, especially the original blinker connection, was a bit of a challenge. (Make sure you shove the flasher bulb socket connection correctly, or else you WILL NOT be able to insert/reconnect your flasher bulb!) The kit includes wire splicing connectors and a diagram of which wire goes where, so unless you're color-blind, you simply match (depending on your bike's wires) green with blue, blue with brown, black with yellow. I would recommend you cover all your completed connections with electrical tape! Then its just a matter of bundling that whole wire nest back into its wire housing. **One thing that their diagram did not include was, which wire connection (striped/not) goes to which of the LED POS/NEG connectors? I initially chose the one wire onto the positive (on both LED rings), and when the lights didn't work, I reversed the connections on the LED rings, and VIOLA, they worked! On a personal note, I think $50 for this kit is a bit of a rip off, considering what you get in the kit. I got lucky finding mine! I would suggest you poke around online until you find one around the $30-35 mark.
