Review Summary:
I got this with intention of stuffing it & my saddlebags full of everything me and the dog would need to go away on bike for 10 days to Canada...this was the biggest tbag i could find- I put it on bike a few different ways before it's final spot, tried the rear seat, the rear luggage rack first, but found the bag was so large & when fully loaded - after a few days it began to droop/sag over make indent into base of bag where it hung over edge of luggage rack, this wasn't good...i cut a piece of very thin shower/tile type wall board to fit the bottom and backside of bag to stiffen it up a bit, that helped somewhat but not all of issue of being over-sized for even the larges marketed luggage rack. So i set out to have a rack made to hold it that would support the entire base of this bag and prevent more of it from getting misshaped from drooping over rack...I checked out local welding shops, independent bike shops, metal shops etc for solution to this...either i didn't like what they had in mind or it would have been ridiculously pricey $$$- (oh and I found that Kuryakin does make a rack that will sit on-top of your existing rack that is supposed to support these type bags , but it is $50. and still not large enough.) So, I ended up making my own rack to go on top of my existing fender's luggage rack. I came across commercial use heavy duty wire shelving...I bought it, used saws-all & I cut it to size, sanded edges, then got some black spray paint and sprayed it a couple coats... used stay ties and put it on top of my luggage rack. It is very sturdy now for holding this over-sided T bag. I put bag on there, used the straps it came with and a few extra's I made from nylon webbing and quick release plastic closers...this did the trick. Bag sits there perfectly supported and stable for loading and carrying everything without drooping over fender rack or causing misshaping to bottom /sides of bag. when I am not using the bag i take it off along with the home made rack and hang it in barn. (my home made rack doesn't look right on bike empty). All this being said, I'm glad i bought the bag, it's great for stuffing for long trip, you most likely will want to come up with a base support rack like i did so it holds up. Leatherman company is amazing to deal with, their customer support is 'almost' as good as that of Cruiser customizing...---ROBIN @ CC YOU RULE!!!---- RIDE SAFE Y'ALL- God bless and take care.
