I did a simple test of strongness by attaching it to the fridge and removing it. It took very little effort over removing a refridgerator magnet. So the working parts of this are a magnet that isn't even as powerful as something you could get in a hardware store. It attaches to the bike via a wire tie through it's casing or via a two-sided tape patch. Probably the most useful in the package were the instructions on how to drive over the sensors to get them to see you. Basically, you want to ride near the edge of the sensor(not the middle), with your frame going over as much metal as possible. You also want to do this with a little speed, not walking it. I wouldn't call this a waste of money, because the sensors have been consistantly triggering, but with the info in this review and a hardware store magnet, you could do the same, possible for cheaper.
