I don't like the fact that they attach to the tube, but I couldn't find any I liked that fit my bike without going to engine guards. They look great on the bike and feel pretty good so far but I haven't taken them on a long trip yet. Nice Chrome and Heavy Duty. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Very , Very happy with them. Don't even consider buying these unless you buy the extenders. Without them it is too close to the bike to be comfortable. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? (4 stars) reviewed on 04/20/05 byKen1800R (kenjaxfl) from Jacksonville, FL, United States, for a 1800 VTX1800R (Retro) wrote: Good quality. I just wish they were a little longer. They seem to be a little bit high. Maybe with the extensions with pegs they would stretch you out a bit more. I bought the flat highway pegs. Still trying to fine tune the adjustment. (5 stars) reviewed on 02/12/05 byFive Point (FivePoint) from Niagara Falls, ON, Canada, for a 2002 1800 VTX1800R (Retro) wrote: Realtively easy to install - on the retro there are supports welded on to the down tubes just about even with the reflector on the rad. It needs to go above these. Instructions say to remove the rad bolt at the top of the rad. I found I also had to loosen up the 2 at the bottom of the rad to be able to get my hand in behind the rad. I found that I had to get both U-mounts on the downtubes from the non-exhaust side. Review Details 2 out of 2 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(5 stars) reviewed on 01/15/05 bymark (markvtx18) from Parker, CO, United States, for a 2002 1800 VTX1800R (Retro) wrote: These look better than those big ugly engine guards that most people use to mount pegs onto. A bunch of people say you need the peg extensions, but I do not think they are necessary. Buy the extensions after you try without. Don't forget to buy pegs! The Rivco ones with the rubber things on them work well. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

They are also easy to take on and off once you have the mount on. You can throw them on in a few min for a longer trip and leave them off for shorter stuff. It is o.k. on long trips but I wish it was lower on the frame so I could extend my legs down and out instead of up and out. Review Details 5 out of 5 members found this review helpful. I will need the extensions, I have a kury, hypecharger and it gets in the way of my leg. When not in use they tuck nicely out of the way. Review Details 1 out of 1 members found this review helpful. (4 stars) reviewed on 07/09/04 byChris (cmueller0485) from Minneapolis, MN, United States, for a 2003 1800 VTX1800R (Retro) wrote: Just installed these last night. Depending on how far you can get your fingers between the rad-cover and the downtube, it can be an easy install. Before you mount it to your downtube BE SURE TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL SCREWS THREAD PROPERLY INTO HOLES! I had to remove piece entirely after getting 3 out of 4 cranked in just so that I could de-burr it and WD40 it. Not happy. But honestly, it's a good looking piece. Take your time adjusting it AND GET THE EXTENSIONS!! Hate to say it though, if Kury ever finishes fabricating pegs for the 1800R, These things are going on E-bay!
