I used clamps to attach them to the saddlebag supports and they are almost necessary if you want to eliminate every bit of flopping. Otherwise they do provide a great deal of fastening options. The back of the bags are hard side and will mark your bodywork unless you take some precautions. If in doubt buy the large not jumbo. With a solo sadlle the yoke also shows which is ugly.
