There are so many adjustments that can be made, I kept changing my mind as to how they looked the best. They look great and they are way bigger than my old bags. I really like them. (4 stars) reviewed on 06/11/07 byDave (enived3) from Eldon, MO, United States, for a 2004 1100 Shadow Spirit wrote: I like the bags. They look good on my bike. I would prefer a quick disconnect instead of the buckles. I also installed a driver's backrest and the mount for that pushed out the front of the bags. I had to do some adjusting and rigging to get the back out so the bags wouldn't rub on the tires. Review Details 1 out of 1 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(4 stars) reviewed on 06/29/06 byjonathan (j0klap01) from louisville, KY, United States, for a 1998 orange and black 1100 Shadow Spirit wrote: nice bag for the price. Only drawback is if you mount hte bag high enough to see the bike side of the bag it is not finished and you see plastic instead of the leather. Other than that they look good they sit well and they fit alot of stuff. Have to relocate turnsignals but if you place the bottom strap though the old turnsignal hole stock saddle brackets are sufficient. Review Details 3 out of 3 members found this review helpful. (4 stars) reviewed on 06/21/06 byKent (tadlocks) from Aurora, CO, United States, for a 2001 1100 Shadow Spirit wrote: The Jumbo size was not recommend for the Shadow Spirit 1100. Istallation required some customization. A turn signal relocation bracket was installed to move the rear lights from the fender bar to the license plate bracket. The yoke was not used, so the quick detach feature is not functional. Instead, the holes for the quick detach feature were used to bolt the bags to the fender bar. However, the bags look great on this bike. Review Details 4 out of 4 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(4 stars) reviewed on 05/31/06 byBob (bobzz52) from Columbus, IN, United States, for a 2004 1100 Shadow Spirit wrote: Nice bags...reasonable price. On my bike, I needed to relocate the turn signals to have enough room. Keep in mind that a "turn signal relocating" kit might not be what you need. After trial and error, I found that Cobra's "Fender Rail Set" is what I needed. Besides standard tools, you will need a 5mm hex key wrench (I think) to remove the front seat so that you can unplug the turn signal wiring. Behind the original "fender rails" are nuts on either side that need to be removed to get the original lights off. Cobra doesn't tell you this. Thought I'd put it in a review to help anyone with the same cycle. Enjoy! Review Details 3 out of 3 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

It was still a tight fit but looks great. You may need to get new bag supports. I'm in a position where I was able to fabricate my own so I did. Also to get them In the position that I liked I had to drill holes through the piece that goes under the seat, so I could get my sissybar back on. They indicated that they were JUMBO but they are smaller than the bags that I first had on bike when I got it. Other than the shortage of room, they are a great bag. Took me a few hours to adjust and readjust and readjust again before I was happy with the positioning. They don't seem to attach well to the stock bars that extend down on the rear fender for protection agains the wheel. They seem to fit rather loosely and I can't come up with a suitable solution for getting them to attach very firmly. To top it all of, I then discovered they don't fit well with the Protac seat I'd purchased earlier for the driver. Definite rock and hard place here as I'm don't want to have to decide between the saddlebags or the backrest for the long rides. Finally did get the seat brackets installed, but it causes the front of the saddlebags to extend outward from the bike... I guess it'll have to make do. Went out for a quick ride on the highway tonight and they don't seem to move around at all in the wind. Bottom line, would have preferred the bolton Hon... You will need to get the tail light relocation kit, but that looks great, too. Still a little small, but the jumbo's don't hang high enough above the tail pipe.
