It does just that. The only problem was finding a place to put it. I was going to put it under the Honda light bar....nope, it hits the fender doing that. Long story short, I have it on the triple tree in between the handlebars and the Honda bugshield (see my review). There is a pro and con to that: the pro, is that I can put a 20 oz drink or bottle between it and the handlebar for very easy access; the con is that after a year I'm finding the studs are just barely marking the lexan bug shield near the chrome trim. It's not that noticeable, but it's there. All-in-all a good product. Thick leather but soft and pliable.
