(3 stars) reviewed on 08/19/10 byGary Allen (GaryAllen7) from Proctorville, OH, United States, for a Black 2007 1300 VTX1300R (S) Retro wrote: Ok... so overall, this is a solid item. It is plastic (bummer), but does draw a TON of attention to this area of the bike. I'm actually surprised someone hasn't come up with a heavier, metal version of this. It does look GREAT on, though I encountered some of the very same problems others did with the non-flush fitting at the top (the two sides actually connect via a small clip). I could only get them within about 1/4 of an inch of each other, but no matter. It was quite tricky to get them on at all and once i did, they were VERY, snug. I have no concern with them loosening or falling off. If i were only rating the 'fit' for this product, I'd crush it... if only it didn't look so darned good on. Bottom line is... if there were something better, I'd get it, but it does make a big difference on a very dull part of the bike. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(5 stars) reviewed on 04/15/09 bycody willey (cwcowboy) from drummond, OK, United States, for a 2005 magenta 1300 VTX1300R (S) Retro wrote: look great on the bike! love the look. install takes a little time, have to remove the seats and loosen and slide back the fuel tank, it can be done fairly easily by one person but is much easier with a second person there to hold and balance the fuel tank. installs very securely and snug, be careful, it is plastic and the locking tabs are fragile going into the slots. but mostly easy to install and well worth the money for the added shine!
