(4 stars) reviewed on 03/08/12 byBrenn Smith (brenns) from , , United States, for a 2003 750 Shadow ACE wrote: If you're aiming for a "classic" look like I was, this piece is great. Look really sharp. Not super easy to put on, just because of the area. I have to put it on after the tire is on because my front whitewall is larger than the stock tire. Might be the same with stock tire size. But with some patience it's not overly difficult. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

I would not use locktite on this as it will begin to set before you have a chance to align all the bolts and figure out that they are 1/4 inch to long resulting in gunked up threads. I had to clean a four threads and reinstall without locktite. It seems good and tight to me. Save yourself the hassle and install with spacers or shorter bolts and avoid locktite unless your fast. (5 stars) reviewed on 04/01/07 byRandall Rimes (rwrimes) from Mableton, GA, United States, for a 2000 Black and Silver 750 Shadow ACE wrote: I got the Hondaline version of this. Really nice addition of chrome to give the bike the cruiser look. The Hondaline version requires the front fender to be drilled at the tip to secure the upper rail in place for additional stability. A screw and a sleeve with a collar is provided to do this. I initially rode the bike without drilling the fender and the tip of the rail vibrated at speeds above 40 MPH. For a much eaiser install remove the front tire. When putting the tire back on it is alot easier to let the air out of the tire to clear the fender rail. It wasn't too difficult or complicated, just tough to line up the holes when screwing it all back together. Another reviewer was right about the crappy bolts they give you, too. One of them snapped off while I was tightening it. What kind of cheap garbage are they making these out of, potmetal? My advice is to take them with you to the hardware store and replace them with some better made steel ones. Beyone that, I love the way they look- give a good "retro" look to the bike without a very large expense. Took about an hour to install- most of that just getting the holes to line up and digging out the broken bolt. Review Details 2 out of 2 members found this review helpful. (5 stars) reviewed on 08/20/05 byTom Welch (Flacruiser) from Jacksonville, FL, United States, for a 2001 750 Shadow ACE wrote: A nice retro look for the front fender. I suggest that you use a friend to help hold the fender as you do the installation. This was a very tight fit and I elected to drill out the holes in the sides of the stock metal fender support that the fender rests on and the 4 stock washers that fit through each side of the fender. If you do this, hold the lip of each washer with a pair of vice grips as you slowly and carefully drill out each hole. If you increase the size of the fender mounting holes slightly then you will have a little more wiggle room when you reinstall the fender mounting bolts. I think the quality of the bolts has been improved from those previously included with the fender rail as they did not seem to be too long and they seemed to be hardened. I have the National Cycle cast fender tips on my fenders and the rail did fit over the front fender tip although I admit it ia a tight fit but it looks good to me in combinatiuon with the tip. However the bolts provided are too Long for the Shadow 750. I recommend they be 3/8 inch shorter. Be prepared to reuse your original mounting bolts. Not sure I like it but it seems to be a quality piece. Just not my style. Taking it off....UPDATE, did not have to take it off. The weld on one side broke.
