These decorative chromed steel exhaust cowls are designed to replace the OEM painted cowls with toe warmer vents.

They are sure good looking on the bike but they are a pain to put on. The have the rubber parts that will not stay in place and you have to have 6 eyes and 4 hands to put these on easy. Don't know about the heat and the chrome for the gold in the last review but I do know that you can't put them on, with the bike on the pitbull lift. Both sides was hard but I thought the gear side was the hardest and before rideing season I will have to remove and reinstall it.

The chrome quality is very good, but that is where it stops. They were very hard to install. right side seemed to be twisted and hard to get on the rubber slide on pieces at chrome exhaust cover. Even removed brake lever and foot peg. Left was easier to install but found the mounting for the foot heater cable was welded on in the wrong orintation, different then stock, but, was still able to tighten it down and make it work. Vents don't close off now, But that may just be an adjustment. Stock parts do come off easy as discribed in plans. Make sure you do have a piece of cloth/rug on the ground as you struggle with the install so you don't scratch them. Also a bike lift would have put me at a better advantage for the install, instead of rolling around on the carpet. edit........After 15 miles of riding they have discolored in a few areas, starting to turn gold in color.
