I had to take a pair of pliers and bend up the outside square corners of the top cut out in order to get it to slip past the fuel valve casing. I found it easier to tip the bottom up so that the top can slip under the lip of the fuel tank. However, bending up the outer square corners of the cut out made it much easier to install. Also, even though I cleaned off the OEM fuel valve casing with an alcohol cleaner, the attachment tape would not adhere to the casing. I ended up having to put a couple spots of silicon adhesive over top of the tape in order to get it to stick. Other than this, it seems to be working and looks good. Super nice clean look.. and yes, more chrome! However, it is a bit tricky to install and I definitely do not think this is worth $20!! (the double-sided tape/glue inside would not hold at all!! - however, this was fixed by going to my local Radio Shack and buying double-sided tape for $2 and putting that one inside the plate cover - works like a charm!! Also, as someone has mentioned, if you bend the top right edge (bend it upward just a bit) it will make your life so much easier!!!! Once you put it on, you cannot see that the cover is bent!
