The mounting screw holes are drilled perpendicular to the arm, but the arms are angled slightly - this makes getting the screws for that go through the brackets that hold the upright and luggage rack very difficult to thread properly. The brackets fit to the fenders very easily - no problems there. Just don't tighten ANYTHING untill all the screws are started.
