Took a while to final splurge on these as the price is hefty. Put them on when you are changing air filters or like servicing the K&Ns I already had. Shop for a dealer who will give you a break. i signed up for the Yamaha credit card and got an additional $25 off. You have to remove your lowers to install, but just the hex head bolts and then work around the rest. Remove the 2 bolts,1 above and 1 below the aircleaner housing then loosen the intake clamp and pull the whole housing off. Screws in the back of the housing hold the cover on.
