I had no problem installing the headset into the helmet (shoei RJ-PLATINUM-R OPEN FACE HELMET). The music is very clear however if you are looking for any bass at all you will not find it in this headset. I am using the yamaha oem audio system to mix the bass and treble but it doesn't make any real differance. I also find when using the CB there is more hiss than I would like. I am not sure if it is the headset or the yamaha system itself. The shoei helment is very quite low db from wind, this means that the volume to the headset is low and music is clear, nice when on those long rides. I also us my ipod and works very well with mp3 plug in. However the bars on the venture with all the stuff attached to them does not leave much room to attache your ipod/iphone.

Once mounted in helmet, it is an exact fit for the communication system on the bike and very easy to use.

These are very tough to install and EXPENSIVE. They work well, but only after a lot of head scratching and re-reading the instructions. PLEASE NOTE....you MUST have the 'right kind of helmet'....at least the right kind of helmet liner. Not all 'open face' helmets allow installation. You have to have a zip-on stereo-ready strap piece with slip-in 'ear pockets'. We went to a local dealer and bought NEW HELMETS (another expense) rather than take up the manufacturer on the offer to 'modify your existing helmet for a nominal charge'. ALSO note....only ONE HEADSEAT cost you $250. I thought I was buying a SET for my wife and me to talk to one another. Not so. Back to the dealer and another $250 later.....we have two. Add that to the TWO new helmets and we have $700 + tied up in a system that allows us to talk to one another while we're sitting 2 feet apart. AIN'T THAT A DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have the J&M sets. Great product, and even better people to deal with. Have two sets.

My head set is J&M but you have to buy 2 ,they do not come in sets. I bought them form another site for less than half the price here, and they are great. better ear pieces too. 2 sets for the price of one. Don't get me wrong the prices here are great for the better part, but some things are way to pricey, check around I did.

Complicated install, doesn't fit my helmet well. Music quality is not that good with the mic open, a bit better with it turned down.

It's nice to be able to communicate with passenger without being poked in the ribs to get my attention. Also, enjoy listening to radio on long trips. Mine were included in the purchase of the bike.

This came with the bike that I bought. I tried using it but the wind noise still overpowers it. Maybe the new windshield will solve that.

Nice to have but rarely used. I have them put up for long rides but really like to ride without. So think about your type of travel before you purchase...pretty expensive for each set.
