ordered from dealership. I saw a 1300T that had been dropped at a stop and what happened to the bags was sad. these may give me a bit of help if it ever happens to me... pretty darned expensive though! UPDATE: they actually look better than I expected without the extra chrome trim and will definitly offer protection for the bags. I have ordered the chrome trim rails as well to complete a finished look although these are OK on their own if you aren't interested in spending the extra $200+.

Bought & installed with rails. Story - had product but not installed yet. Left saddlebag was clipped hard (in pieces) when a semi turned into me. Missed everything else somehow and bike stayed upright. These are solid enough that the bike would have taken the hit a lot harder & lost control, but how often does that happen? Very sturdy once installed with rails, great quality product.
