Great accessory here in Alaska. Keeps the bugs off my face and cuts down on the cool wind.

It does it's job, but I don't like how it looks. Takes away from the bike. I only use it in the 2 winters months of Texas, and road trips over 500 miles.

I am 6 ft. high, and have slim (potato chip) seat on the bike (I am seating lower than average). Windshield reaches somewhere in the middle of my nose bone (it is mounted on the lower settings, I could rise it for another 2 in. if needed). They say it should be reaching the tip of your nose, but the height does not bother me at all. I actually like the extra wind protection, as I ride with half-helmet most of the time. My advice - go to dealer first and try to figure out the size you want. My estaimate - if you are 6 ft or taller, and have stock seat - this is the size you want. I love the color of the windshild, its not too yellow, but it has this vintage shade...

This was the first accessory that I added, I ordered it from the dealer the day I bought the bike. I rode to work in the mornings at 40 degrees, it was a welcome addition. It was very easy to install and looks as if it was made for the bike and not adapted to fit.

I installed this myself with NO trouble at all. The only thing to watch out for is to make sure you push the fork back in level with the top triple tree before tightening the allen bolts on the windshield mount. Other than that - easy! It works well and has a little adjustment for the angle of attack. After a few trial runs, I have it where I want it. I have noticed a little head buffeting with a helmet on, but I've read that the lower deflectors, and a little better adjustment of the angle take care of that. I don't know what Yamaha was thinking when they put a sticker that is almost impossible to remove on it. My dealership gave me a tip to remove it, and after a little time it did the job. Heat it up first with a hair dryer, and pick away with your fingernail, heat, scratch, heat, scratch. Keep doing this until you get the paper part of the sticker off, and all that is left is the glue stuff. Then take a soft rag and some WD-40. It is not too harsh and does not damage the...
