Small bag on top just as good, i got two pairs of water proof padded pants and two large jumpers in and still had room for other stuff ideal for short rides, lifts on and off dead easy no fastners if you have sissy bar and rack. No matter how tight I had it to the bike it still shifted side to side. It would have been alot better if it were water proof. But it did it's job, stayed on the bike and didn't fall apart.
