The Classic Duals have all the same high quality features as our originals. CLASSICS offer the same powerful design, superb fit and finish. and a classic sound you would bet was straight out of Milwaukee. Classics come standard with full length, full coverage heat shields. The heat shields cover any head pipe bluing or discoloration that may occur from heat. That means new looking, show quality pipes for many years to come.

WAY better than the Jardines I put on years ago! The Vance & Hines are GREAT!!! Had my mechanic check it out for a possible carb rejet, but all he did was tweak the carbs and now the Virago runs sweet - no backfire, no hesitation. The Virago runs as smooth as it did when it was new with stock exhaust. Getting around 47 M.P.G. Sound? Awesome! A bit louder than the Jardines, but still has a nice tone. The ONLY problem is a "squeek" around 2000 R.P.M. that I can't find. HIGHLY recommend this exhaust system!!!

Awesome sound... through the whole RPM range. I installed a couple days ago and only today had the opportunity to lend the bike to a friend so that I could hear what they sounded like to everyone else. Suh.... WEET! The install instructions were pretty good... but don't bother putting the chrome heat shields on until the pipes are all installed. They get in the way otherwise. Before you attempt this install, make sure that you get BOTH the front pipe to cylinder head gasket (about $10) AND the gasket that originally goes from the rear head pipe to the muffler box (about $35 - that's right... thirty five dollars). These prices were from my local Yamaha dealer. The $35 gasket was not stocked, so I had to wait a week after having already disassembled the old stuff. YOU WILL NEED BOTH OF THESE. The instructions say "try to re-use the old gasket". Yeah... right. Most of the bolts supplied by V&H are galvanized... it would have been nice if they'd provided stainless st...

Real pain in the butt to put on. I would think V&N could have made the muffler opening an additional .03 bigger so you don't need a rubber hammer to "slip" pipe into muffler. BUT, when I fired it up and "let 'er eat" up to 6500 RPM, it was well worth the trouble. Be careful if you have highway bars. Probably will need to modify bars.

I bought it in (fall 2007). It looks very nice and sounds great. Some of us who bought it, wrote that new exhaust required new gaskets (in connections pipes, under frame) which are a little bit expensive and sometimes is dificult buy it - I have some advice: I have used asbestos or (look - alike) wrope and exhaust sealing pasta which you can buy in most of shops with car accessories. Now I can enjoy to ride real chopper!!!!!!!!
