The instructions state to take off the brake assembly but on a tip from another buyers feedback, I just loosened the assembly just enough for the front pipe to fit thru. It made putting everthing back easier and faster. The sound is awesome and looks clean. I am very pleased with this purchase. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

When I was picking up my bike from the dealer after the install the mechanic said "now it sounds like a beast" and was he ever right. Great sound and I think a lot lighter than stock pipes. A must have for and vtx 1300 owner. Wish I'd installed them sooner. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

I did as the directions said and it was fast and easy. I love the sound. They might be to loaud for some people. I do need to get the bike retuned as it is shooting out flames when i am slowing down. That should be a easy addjustment in fuel air mix. But i can say this, these pipes are sweet look good and sound great. Good price and very good looking. THanks for reading this. I recomend these for an easyh do it your selfer. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(4 stars) reviewed on 08/24/10 byTim (tshumway) from , , United States, for a 2007, black 1300 VTX1300R (S) Retro wrote: Installed these pipes on my bike yesterday, took 4 1/2 hours to install. They aren't as easy to install as some reviews state they are. Overall the flange on the exhaust pipe has little raised bumps on them so when you remove the factory exhaust the flanges are smooth. The liitle raised bumps (punch marks) make for a time in getting the pipes to seal to the heads. After a hour and a half I got the longest pipe to finally seal. The vance & hines pipes come with everything needed to install them. The sound quality is good and not much noticeable throttle response. I did not re-jet the carburetor but I have the jet kit and may install it. The heat shields for the pipes are 220 degree shields and should be 250 or 260 degrees for a better look. Overall so far very happy. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Many of my neighbors (in spite of being awakened early in the morning) call them "awesome". These were easy to install in less than 90 minutes. They look great, and the sound is unbelievable. Gives her bike a deeper tone and better "V-twin" sound than the big shots on my 1800. She loves 'em, too. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(5 stars) reviewed on 06/25/09 byMike O'Dell (bleushark) from , , for a 0 1300 VTX1300R (S) Retro wrote: The sound that these pipes produce are awesome. People can actually here me now. It has a deep rumble and is quite loud. The only drawback is the choke closes from the vibration, but the sound is so great that that is very well worth the hassle. I saw a lot of recommendations about jet kits and installed the DynoJet kit (item# DJ-1192). The bike looks even better now then it did with stock pipes. A very good purchase. The install was easy, although time consuming. I did not remove the brake/floorboard as suggested, just loosened it. A very good purchase, oh, did I already say that? Oh well, it was well worth every penny. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Installed in about 90 min. with no trouble. They are everything I hope they would be, nice sound and a little more pep. Added a K&N filter, will be doing the jet kit very soon. Also, in the installation you don't have to take the the board and brake off, just loosen in and let in dangle off the bolts. Review Details 7 out of 7 members found this review helpful.
