Highly recommended. Moderately easy install although the rear pipe is a little tight. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
(4 stars) reviewed on 09/21/10 byJoshua Larsen (tiplarsen) from Jacksonville, NC, United States, for a 2005 Custom Blue 800 Vulcan wrote: Definitely an improved sound over standard pipes, with combination of my hypercharger I love givin the bike some throttle. Have gotten nice compliments from strangers as I've pulled up to the bike shops. One complaint is that the headers have some additional chrome piled up on them that is easily sanded down softly with a dremel tool. You may need to do this in order for them to fit during installation. Only reason for the 4 stars. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

If you take your time and pay attention to what your doing you wont have to grind any of the right flange on the rear pipe. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Had to grind down the rear flange (just like evryone else), but besides that pretty straight forward. Louder than I was expecting...but what a beautiful sound. I no longer have a bike that sounds like the Jetson's family car. These Vance and Hines pipes are louder than expected, but my ride definitely has that nice deep throaty "potato, potato" rumble. It just brought it to life and she sounds like one of the big boys now! I'll need to re-behave on my throttle to be polite around my neighborhood. Bravo Zulu to the folks at Cruiser Customizing for getting this order delivered as soon as they did. UPS had it at my door within five days of clicking the purchase button (Weekend included). I had a damaged heat shield when I opened the box and V&H is being a pain about sending a new one, but I'll get it! INSTALL: (Specific for a 1998 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic: It's an exhaust, so it's pretty straight forward. Vance and Hines did a beautiful job with the chrome work and it looks like they came with the bike. A bit more streamlined than the stock pipes, about 4 inches shorter and you can expect a little more cl... Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(5 stars) reviewed on 08/27/09 byJustin Moore (JustinMoore) from Conway, AR, United States, for a 2003 black 800 Vulcan wrote: These pipes sound and look awesome!!! I could not be more impressed. At first I started customizing the stock exhaust myself by taking the baffles out and finally chopping the baffle part completely off. Which is a "no no" I later found out. So now I am very pleased that finally purchased these pipes. They are PLENTY loud for me and I like em LOUD. A Must Buy for other Vulcan Riders! Review Details Was this review helpful to you? (5 stars) reviewed on 07/14/09 byDuff (Stoneface) from Charlotte, VT, United States, for a 1996, Blue 800 Vulcan wrote: These pipes sound great and loud!! Don't forget, though, we have a small displacement motor with a shorter stroke, so the pitch is still higher than the low big block rumble. But cruise at 30 MPH, drop it into 5th gear, crank on the throttle and your buddies will hear you coming from half a mike away. Ease of install was only limited to the rear pipe mount bracket. You almost need a third hand to help adjust them to bolt them up. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

I had to grind down the flange on the rear pipe, but they slid right on after that. I don't have any problems hearing my pipes now. I don't think my neighbors like me anymore, though.
