The sound is grate This is what I am very disappointed about. The descriptions indicate that there is full coverage with heat shields. And that you will never see blue pipes. The front head pipe is reused in this kit, and I'm fine with that however I was expecting to get a heat shield to cover it as described in the description. I have yet to see a 650 v star with a stock front pipe that isn't blue. Vance and Hines needs to do there home work.

Really nice looking pipes, they were on the bike when I bought it. I wish they were a little louder though.

Just got them and they sound and look great, install instructions could have been better illustrated or had more detail.

The pipes look very good and are LOUD!. A little too loud since they are basically straight thru. Not bad when you what to make a little noise but annoying when you're rolling down the highway and have to listen to the racket for hours on end. Installation was pretty straightforward except for the muffler bracket. The holes for the top muffler did not line up and required drilling out. No heat shield provided for the stock front header pipe and no mention in instructions of rear head gasket.

Installation is fairly easy. I have had a set of these on for 2 yrs and am getting ready to change to HK 2 3/4 big straights. These sound alot better than the stock, but not quite the sound I am looking for.
