I also liked the look of the pipes without the tips, but I don't know if I'd be able to remove the tips now that they're on. Had to do some pounding with a rubber hammer to get them into the pipes. These V&H velocity tips did not fit the I.D. of my V&H straight shot exhausts. I should have returned them for replacement. They were between 0.008 and 0.014 inch larger than the 2.125 I.D. of the pipe they are supposed to slide into. I ground them on a bench grinder to size...what a job. Ended up with some minor scratches on one of the tips. If you grind yours, tape the chrome that matters with duct tape so the grinder rest doesn't scratch the chrome.
