It is still loud when you get on it but the sound is so much better. At lower speeds the sound is lower, but definitely not stock sound kind of lower. I removed the scotch tape and wrapped the packing with wire. They went in easily. I put them in before I installed the pipes so I can't compare them to the standard baffles. The word quite does NOT apply to these baffles. They are LOUD!!! I'm supprised Vance and Hines hasn't been sued for false advertizing. I've received no compliments or so much as a smile since I put the pipes on. I HAVE recveived many disapproving scowls and comments about how loud they are. I've seriously considered putting the stock exhaust back on but I wan to be heard. I do believe a little noise gets attention and saves lives. About half the volume would have been sufficient.
