I ordered the pipes new here and the quiet baffles 6 months later. There may have been a difference in the wrapping but not the metal baffles themselves. Did my Big Shots come with the quiet baffles in them for some reason? The ones I removed were capped, had wrap, they were the same. I'm confused. After all that work did I change anything? Make no mistake, these are loud pipes! Wanted to try reducing the noise so the wife could ride again. (she wouldn't with these pipes on the bike) I bought the V&H "Quiet Baffle" and installed them myself. Using a *RadioShack sound meter I could still reach 111 db's at 15 feet to the rear of the bike. If reducing noise levels to exceptable limits is you goal, don't waste your money. My Classic is back to wearing the stock pipes. Review Details 6 out of 7 members found this review helpful. (1 stars) reviewed on 04/27/07 byLee Witbeck (leedub) from Bellingham, WA, United States, for a 2006 C50 Boulevard wrote: I ordered these Quite Baffles with my straightshots. I removed the scotch tape and wrapped the packing with wire. They went in easily. I put them in before I installed the pipes so I can't compare them to the standard baffles. The word quite does NOT apply to these baffles. They are LOUD!!! I'm supprised Vance and Hines hasn't been sued for false advertizing. I've received no compliments or so much as a smile since I put the pipes on. I HAVE recveived many disapproving scowls and comments about how loud they are. I've seriously considered putting the stock exhaust back on but I wan to be heard. I do believe a little noise gets attention and saves lives. About half the volume would have been sufficient. If you're looking for earth shaking, window breaking ear peircing noise, then these are for you. Review Details 8 out of 14 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

These so called "Quiet Baffels" are a misnomer. I didn't notice any difference in the noise level at all and in fact have take the Vance and Hines Big Shots off my bike and reinstalled the stock pipes.
