If you tighten down too much it does interfere with the throttle backing off. You will need a box cutter or carpenter knife to trim the O-ring effectively too. This is actually a throttle lock and works as advertised, requires adjustments but it works for exactly what you need to hold the throttle for a few minutes. Got it and used it during a long road trip right after receiving it. Great to have. Went to a rally and some folks seen it and thought it was pretty good deal, as did I.
