First thing I did was take off the cheesy conch. Then I modified them so I can lock them. It'd be easy enough for a theif to slice open the bags, but I've found that having locks on the bags prevents "curious" people from looking inside. Wasn't really crazy about the look though. They seemed kind of small and out of place on the bike. I took them off. But while I was using them, I really had no problems. They also get moisture in them from overnight humidity and the buckles have started to rust a little. Probably would buy something different if I had the loot. I have mounted them to a set of Easy Brackets so that I can take them off the bike and keep them inside at the end of the day. Due to the Easy Brackets I had to add additional plastic to the inside to maintain rigidity. I have ridden with them in the rain and have had no problems. The only thing that I feel could be improved upon is the rear loop to attatch the bags to your supports. It is at the rear edge of the bags, and on my bike, the cable ties must be pulling forward on the bag, where they should pull straight or aft. Still, I would recomend them to anyone wanting soft bags. The size and shape is nearly ideal for the Ace. You will notice that I said I wouldn't buy this product again. That is because while these bags do everything they are supposed to do very well, I would buy hard bags next time. These bags certainly aren't difficult to open and close, but it does take a moment. It seems that every time I pack, I end up openning and closing the bags several times before I finally get everything loaded.
