(4 stars) reviewed on 12/02/09 byBarry Moore (BTMoore) from Auburndale, FL, United States, for a 2006 Titanium Flame 1100 Shadow Sabre wrote: Very nice set of inexpensive bags for everyday use. Some very nice features and first appearances show good quality of workmanship. I will update this review after I have put some miles out on the road with them. Post Installation Update: These are large saddlebags and are probably about as large as can fit the Honda Sabre 1100 with stock exhaust. I had to punch in 3 additional rows of lacing holes on the yoke to draw the bags up high enough to stay clear of the exhaust. The large Willy & Max Fleetside Deluxe Saddlebags are made very well with the exception that I went ahead and change out the small rivets on the top of the bags that hold the handles on for four chrome 3/8ths x 1/4" machine screws with 1/2"chrome washers and acorn nuts to fit. This I am sure will alleviate problems in the future. These lage bags are very roomy and I have found that I can fit the XXL Dowco Bike Cover into one for a completely full and snug fit. More updates to come... Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

On my sabre I had to shorten the crossover by about 3 inches on each side to get the up close to the seat and keep them off the exhaust. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

Even with the helmet lock removed they'll cover the rear the fender support bolt on the strut, so beware if you have (or plan to have) bullet style turn signals mounted on the strut. (5 stars) reviewed on 09/16/03 byRudedog (exracer) from Auburn, ME, United States, for a 2000 1100 Shadow Sabre wrote: Really nice bags, perfect size for what I needed. My XL Joe Rocket Hard Drive jacket will fit in one side with a little room for gloves and glasses. leaving the other bag free. I liked the way the smaller bags interior flap snapped shut at the front, I could unsnap those and stuff something in without having to unbuckle the bags, on the other hand the top flap for these bags is better because it covers the front of the bags better. I had a hard time getting them to sit straight as the bracket for my backrest interferes with the strap. Also my original bag support brackets don't come anywhere near the tie downs for these bags. I had to tie the front to the upper shock bolts. Hopefully I can find the right supports this winter. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(4 stars) reviewed on 05/02/03 byNorb (Norb) from Toms River, NJ, United States, for a 1100 Shadow Sabre wrote: Nice looking bags, for the price. p.s. After about a year, the bags started to lose their shape in the back where there is no reinforcement. I contacted W&M and they sent me a prototype insert that makes the bags more rigid. The insert are a MUST and I would highly recommend them. In fact, my ratings of these bags have changed because of these inserts. Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

(2 stars) reviewed on 04/17/02 bysteve (scriss) from marshall, NC, United States, for a 1100 Shadow Sabre wrote: Update to original review. When I mounted these bags (under the seat) , I had to trim the connecting strap to clear the back rest mount in order for the bags to sit level with the bike. As the tie down points don't securely hold the bags down, they want to 'fly' at interstate speeds. The strap eventually partially separated and the stitching pulled loose. I wound up fabricating a mount welded it to the Cobra bag supports and inserted a 1/4" plywood back and securely bolted the bags to the new mounts. The bags are now very secure, but it'll be a pain in the butt to remove them for maintenance.bag supports). Review Details Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
