I had previously relocated the turn signals to the rear so I had plenty of room for whatever bags I purchased. I have the newer style that are removable that I purchased from a local dealer on clearance. After some fancy sissor work and adjusting I got them on the bike the way I like 'em! They have lots of storage and look great - esp for the price. I think these bags are the perfect size for the VLX (with the turn signals relocated). They are big enough to hold my laptop, and I still have just enough clearance as to not burn them on my stock exhaust. I had to drill two holes in the strap, so the bag would sit over my rear fender, and sit under the seat. I also had to add 1/8" of washers to the back seat mount posts to give me enough clearance. Its tight! and thats the way I wanted it. I just wanted to add an additional thought. Relock tite the screws that mount into the top of the fender. The saddlebags will vibrate them loose. I also have not installed the bag supports. I have found no need for them. Enjoy! Review Details 4 out of 4 members found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |

I moved the rear signals from my fender back to my license plate to fit larger bags, but these bags still seem to be pushed forward a bit to much. The rear mounting bracket on the seat prevents me from pushing them back far enough, but a few slits in the throw over straps should solve the problem. They look nice, pack bunches of stuff.
