Installation wasn't hard, requiring removal of the seat (which you'd have to do to use clips anyway) and the wiring lends itself to a very compact, neat installation. My unit came with the standard two prong plug, and I wired a permanent charge wire to my battery and routed it out to the left floorboard area for quick connect/disconnect. It works great as a trickle charger in cold weather and allows me to run my plethera of accessories in my garage without fear of the battery running down. Charger keeps battery at float once it is charged and keeps it there as needed. L.E.D. lights show you when the power is on, then it tells you by L.E.D. light that it is testing battery, then that it is charging and lastly that it is in float mode. Quality charger! Also comes with alligator clips and permanent leads you can put on battery terminals so that you can hook up charger anytime WITHOUT removing battery from bike!
